Are you one of those who:

1) do not subscribe to any Wireless Internet Broadband such as Celcom Wireless or P1 Broadband

2) has a notebook with bluetooth connection

3) has an old-fashioned mobile phone who barely run 3G connection (eg, Nokia 3120 Classic)

4) do not have a fancy iPhone that make those without a moron

5) need a quick Internet connection to access your email on the move

Connect To Internet Using Your Cell Phone as a Modem

Ever wanted to surf the net but didn’t have a modem on your computer? You don’t realy need a modem to be able to surf the net,you can simply use your cell phone as a modem. HOW? This short tutorial will teach how to set your phone as a modem connected to your computer/laptop.

Frist is frist. You need a cell phone.

2.It has to have gprs and it must be modem enabled

3.You need a means of connection from your cell phone to your computer or laptop (inferred, bluetooth or usb cable)

4.You need a dialup connection

5.You need to know and change your proxey settings

Step 1:Take your gprs enabled cell phone and connect it to your computer or laptop using either buletooth, infered or a usb cable.

Step 2:Create a dial up connection.Go into yor control panel, then into internet options. Then go to connections and add.Create a dial up connection and when it asks for a phone number type in *99#

Step 3:On your new dialup connection add the same proxy address you have on your gprs in your cell phone.

Step 4:Now on your cpanel there should be something called modem options (If your ‘s doesn’t have you’ll have to search your computer for an option that allows you to change the acess point name or also known as the APN) here you must change the APN to whatever your APN is on yor gprs in your phone.

Step 5:Go to start menu and connect, then connect to your dial up (make sure your cell phone is connected to your computer or laptop)

Step 6:Start your browser (internet exploxer, opera etc) and start surfing the net.

Note that every cell phone has it’s own speed for example 3g phones can reach up to speed’s of 48 kb/s.

I’ve tried to make this tutorial as simple and as easy to follow as possible.

Hope It help’s out.

Poedit is free cross-platform gettext catalogs (.po files) editor, used by translators to perform side by side translation. Using the gettext command, text content from a website can be extracted and save to a .pot file. The .pot file serves as the master copy of all the text content. It will be used to compare with an existing .po file and to update it if there is any changes to the web content. Then, a .mo file will be generated by Poedit.

Poedit main interface

To download Poedit and find out the benefit of using it, check out http://www.poedit.net/

The program is perfect if only singles words such as name of Country, etc, can be auto translated by Google Translators. Well, it can save the time of translators for sure!

An add-on was developed to solve this problem. This stand alone program check through a .po files and retrieve translated text from Google and update the .po file automatically. You can save at least 20% of your time in translation.

I came across this thing called Tor when I was reading an article about how Malaysia Bloggers use it to post and manage the MalaysiaToday Blog anonymous.

“Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. It also enables software developers to create new communication tools with built-in privacy features. Tor provides the foundation for a range of applications that allow organizations and individuals to share information over public networks without compromising their privacy. ”
